Indian football club Dempo Sports Club could receive a big financial boost soon as Shah Rukh Khan, who is the co-owner of an IPL cricket team the Kolkata Knight Riders. Sharukh Khan Bollywood actor might buy 50% share of Dempo Sports Club.
If the deal does cross final stage then it will be the first time that a Bollywood star will be associated with an I-League club. It would be a big boost for the Indian Football/ Soccer that lacks commercial support in the country.
The owner of the Dempo Sports Club, Shrinivas Dempo, said that the club is in discussions with Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan over the matter.
The value of the deal might be around 30 crore. Red Chilli is discussing the issue with Dempo.
If everything fall in place it will be a good news to Indian Football.
Earlier Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, co-owner of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals, had also shown keen interest in playing role in Indian football.
Vijay Mallya, who owns IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore, is the chief sponsor of East Bengal and Mohun Bagan football club.
